It all started one winter day in 2000.
I (Nicolas Dernie) was surfing the Web and entered like most of you: www.mr2.com,
which took me to a site that most of you will know pretty well...
On their links page, I noticed that there is a club in France: www.mr2.fr
It was a nice and well organised club. The fact that they organise meetings on a regular basis drew my attention.
Next, I filled out their join form and not much later I received a mail from the president of the club and also
one of Geoffrey Danze. We immediately got along well and met for the first time at the Car Expo in Brussels (Jan 2001).
This was the kick off to starting a Belgian Club, supported by the French mother club.
We took the 5 Belgian members that already subscribed to the French club under our wings.
Because I know a little of computers and the Internet, I decided to set up our own web page on a free location.
This went very well.
That same year (2002) we already had over 40 members and our meetings were organised on a regular basis.
It all became more and more complex and difficult to keep getting things organised by two people.
Therefore, we (Geoffrey and me) decided to ask one of our members for support.
Serge tkint became our club secretary mainly because he speaks several languages and because he is Flemish.
Now we could focus on the Flemish side of Belgium, trying to reach even more members and to make
it easier to maintain contact with other clubs.
Later on, we also discovered that he knows about computers and website building.
This was the moment that we decided to buy the MR2.BE url and start building a new official web site.
4 months later, after lots of sleepless nights, we proudly present you this new site.
